What extraction size do I need over an outdoor kitchen?
The hood should be at least as wide as the cooking surface below it, and wider is better outdoors where breeze pulls smoke sideways. A 1200mm hood suits a standard four-burner run; step up to 1500mm if you have a built-in barbecue plus a side burner.
Can these be used in an enclosed alfresco area?
That depends on your local building rules and on whether the space counts as enclosed. Extraction and gas appliances in a roofed alfresco are regulated, so check with your installer before committing to a hood size.
