Overview
The rundown on the FireBoard 2 Pro Thermocouple Thermometer & Fan Controller
The FireBoard 2 Pro is the first FireBoard built around Type K thermocouples, with FireBoard Drive fan control integrated into the unit. Its three probe channels cover -100°C to 800°C, a wider range than the thermistor-based FireBoard 2 and FireBoard 2 Drive, which stop at 400°C. A Drive fan cable is not needed to run a FireBoard Blower, which is sold separately.
Thermocouple probes suit cooks that run much hotter than a typical smoker, such as pizza ovens, wood stoves and brick or ceramic ovens. It also handles ordinary kitchen, grill and smoker temperatures. Readings are pushed through the FireBoard Cloud to iPhone, Android and web apps over WiFi, with Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) as a local connection. The unit uses thermocouple probes only, so existing thermistor probes will not plug into it.
