About PK Grills
The PK360 from PK Grills: a cast aluminium charcoal grill and smoker in graphite and silver at $1,795, and the Aaron Franklin Edition at $1,295.
Why cast aluminium instead of steel?
Cast aluminium does not rust, and it holds heat far better than thin sheet steel while weighing much less than ceramic. For coastal Australian backyards, where salt air eats painted steel cookers, that combination is the main reason people choose a PK over a cheaper kettle.
Can it smoke as well as grill?
Yes. The capsule shape and four-point venting let you run a two-zone fire, with coals banked to one side and the meat over indirect heat. That is what makes it a genuine grill and smoker rather than a grill that occasionally holds a low temperature.
